Provided is an antibody (clone CT240) which binds and neutralizes PAI-1 by converting PAI-1 to its latent form or increasing proteolytic cleavage. The antibody csn be used for the detection, diagnosis or treatment studies of a disease or condition associated with PAI-1 or a combination thereof.
